That adds up to a staggering amount of waste! This year, we’re taking steps toward reducing race-day trash and promoting sustainability by giving away a collapisilbe cup. The cup is a collapsible, reusable cup designed to replace single-use cups at race events and minimize waste on trails and roads. The ultralight, abrasion-resistant TPU & RF welded seams ensure superior durability and are paired with a thumb loop to provide easy access and support when drinking or pouring.
    • Free Cups will be available runners at the packet pickup at Lubec Elementary School.  (Limit one per person.)
    • All aid stations will have water and Gatorade available in disposable paper cups. Additionally, volunteers will be available to fill your Cup with water using a SpeedFill pitcher.  Together, we can reduce waste and make a positive impact in the community by reducing our waste.

Race Weekend related

  1. I’m flying in; What airports do you recommend?
    • We are a remote community, and travel here takes 2-3 hours. Plan accordingly in your bookings. If you're flying within Canada or International we recommend using Fredericton International Airport (YFC) or Saint John Airport (YSJ). If flying within the USA we recommend Bangor International Airport (BGR) or Portland International Jetport.
  2. What else is there to do?
    • Campobello Island and Lubec offer lots of other attractions besides the marathon including whale watching cruises, wild Bold Coast trails overlooking the boiling Atlantic swells and gentler walks (and runs) in the Roosevelt Campobello International Park, West Quoddy Head State Park, Herring Cove Provincial Park, and others. Visit the lighthouses, including Head Harbour Light at the northernmost tip of Campobello Island (turning point for the marathon), and the candy-striped West Quoddy Head Lighthouse at the most easterly point in the continental USA (starting point for the marathon, half-marathon, and 10k). Also in the Roosevelt Campobello International Park is US President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s summer home where you can even have “Tea with Eleanor."

Stay a while and enjoy. In June you can also stay for the local celebrations of Canada Day (1 July) and US Independence Day (4 July).
