Mission Statement

The Mission Statement of the Bay of Fundy International Marathon organization
re-Adopted on December 10, 2024 by the organizing committee

The mission of the Bay of Fundy International Marathon is to strengthen community collaboration, contribute to the local economy, and promote active and healthy lifestyles by hosting road race events in Lubec and Campobello.

INCLUSION & FAIR SPORT POLICY

Bay of Fundy International Marathon celebrates the diversity of its participants, volunteers, spectators, and staff. We are committed to creating a safe and affirming space for people of all identities and experiences, especially those from historically marginalized communities. We believe that everyone has the right to participate in this event, as their authentic selves, free from harassment and discrimination. All who participate must respect others and observe all event rules. Anyone found to be in violation of this policy faces potential disqualification, expulsion from future events, and/or legal action. Perceived violations of this policy may be reported to the Race Director or Race Committee.

GENDER POLICY

This race is proud to offer a men’s, women’s, and nonbinary division. We accept each participant’s declared gender at face value, with no supporting evidence required. Participants should enter and participate in the gender division consistent with their gender or personal expression. Participants who have concerns about this guidance or race practices should contact the Race Director at info@bayoffundymarathon.com. Participants found to be in intentional violation of this policy will be subject to the consequences laid out in the Inclusion & Fair Sport Policy.

NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY

The Bay of Fundy International Marathon (The Event) commits to promoting inclusivity and equality in running by ensuring that all individuals, regardless of race, color, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or any other status protected by law, have equal access to its services and programs. The Event encourages members of the running community to create environments that are welcoming and accessible to all, embracing diversity and fostering respect among participants.
